Possibly the smallest box that I have encountered for a regular sized 500 piece puzzle, measuring 233 x 180 x 25 mm. Arguably too shallow in my opinion, as they barely contain the pieces that form the puzzle. I’d be curious to know whether the pieces were contained in a bag or if the box was shrink-wrapped when new.
This Waddingtons cut is far from my favourite but this group of boxes were becoming ever more prominent in the diminishing stack of 500 piece puzzles to build, so now is their time.
Approached this one with a little trepidation, hoping that there wouldn’t be too many pieces that were plain blue sky. At least the initial piece count suggested that all should be present, so that factor wasn’t a consideration.
Began with the outline of the building against the sky before filling in the building and the people in front of it. This also covered the two rows of outsize pieces, so these were no particular help this time.
Repeated the process with the reflected area in the foreground before finishing off with the plain blue sky pieces. All present, but I wouldn’t bet anything that they are necessarily in the correct positions. I managed to reduce the dubious placements to two but I wasn’t willing to spend any more time on this puzzle.
Bought more jigsaws…

TODO: 775 puzzles (1109761 nominal piece count).
